Tortilla Sales Clerk

 

General Description:

Preparation and production of tortilla items is the primary duty of the Tortilla Sales Clerk.  He/she is responsible for the preparation and proper packaging of product for the store.  He/she is also responsible for the sanitary handling of product and for overall cleanliness of the department.  Additional related tasks will be performed under the direction of his/her supervisor.

 

Qualifications:

·        Current Food Handler Card

·        Minimum Age: 18

·        Exceptional customer service skills.

·        Previous tortilla dept. experience a plus but not necessary.

·        Fluency in Spanish preferred.

·        Consistent standing, stooping, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs

 

Essential Functions:

·        Packages tortilla items according to department standards.

·        Displays and rotates product, keeps food cases fresh and clean.

·        Maintains inventory control, proper sanitation and cleanliness of the department.

·        Greets customers in the department, by name when possible; assists with needs and requests; extends thanks to each customer when service is completed.

·        Uses good salesmanship techniques to promote purchases.

·        Completes assigned tasks in an efficient and timely manner in accordance with company standards.

·        Maintains friendly and respectful decorum at all times toward customers, co-workers, vendors and all others.

·        Handles, in a positive manner, those inherent levels of stress associated with employment situations.
