| Floral Clerk General Description: The customer relations aspect of this position requires that the Floral Clerk make customer service their number one priority at all times, attending to customer needs and requests in a courteous and assertively friendly manner. The Floral Clerk is responsible for proper preparation, rotation, display of the product, and appearance and cleanliness of the department. He/she must be able to produce an appropriate quantity of quality work in a timely manner, as well as being responsible for the completion of various assigned tasks under the direction of his/her supervisor.
Essential Functions: - Appreciation for and love of plants and flowers.
- Previous experience in floral arranging
- Dept. buying experience
- Greets each customer using names whenever possible; assists customers with their needs or requests, whether verbalized or observed; extends thanks when service is completed.
- Displays and maintains product in an attractive and appropriate manner.
- Rotates in accordance with company standards.
- Practices safe and efficient trimming skills.
- Produces high quality and sufficient quantity of product.
- Maintains the cleanliness of the sales floor and the backroom.
- Maintains friendly and respectful decorum at all times toward customers, co-workers, vendors, and all others.
- Handles, in a positive manner, those inherent levels of stress associated with employment situations.
Other Employment Responsibilities: - Complies with laws/regulations and company policies including those regarding confidentiality, honesty, and business ethics.
- Maintains responsive and cooperative relationships with supervisors, co-workers, vendors, customers, and other personnel.
- Accomplishes assigned tasks in an efficient and timely manner within standards established by supervisor.
- Consistent standing, bending stooping, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrates the "Please the customer first" credo.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Current Food Handler Card.
- Creativity in product presentation and selling.
- Product knowledge (including variety, preparation and pricing).
- Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Good customer relations skills with outgoing, friendly personality.
- Ability to work quickly in accordance with company standards.
- Ability to perform essential functions, with reasonable accommodation if needed.
- Neat, clean professional appearance.
- Good work record/references.
