Asian Kitchen Clerk

 

General Description:

Cleaning, preparing and cooking menu items according to the set recipes are the primary duties of the Asian Kitchen Cook. Customer needs and requests are to be attended to in a courteous and assertively friendly manner. The Asian Kitchen Cook is expected to follow company and health department standards in the preparation of the department's products. He/she is responsible for the preparation and cooking of products, sanitary handling of the product, overall cleanliness in the department, and the completion of various assigned tasks under the direction of his/her supervisors.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to set recipes.
  • Maintains inventory control, proper sanitation and cleanliness of the department.
  • Assist in the maintenance and cleanliness of the department as assigned by his/her supervisors
  • Completes assigned tasks in an efficient and timely manner in accordance with company standards.
  • Maintains friendly and respectful decorum at all times toward customers, co-workers, vendors, and all others.
  • Handles, in a positive manner, those inherent levels of stress associated with employment situations.

Other Employment Responsibilities:

  • Complies with laws/regulations and company policies including those regarding confidentiality, honesty, and business ethics.
  • Maintains responsive and cooperative relationships with supervisors, co-workers, vendors, customers, and other personnel.
  • Accomplishes assigned tasks in an efficient and timely manner within standards established by supervisor.
  • Demonstrates the "Please the customer first" credo in spirit and action.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:  

  • Current Food Handler Card.
  • Experience in preparation and cooking preferred.
  • Outgoing personality with a sincere desire to serve the public and superior customer relations skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work a variety of shifts and days of the week/weekends.
  • Neat, clean businesslike appearance.
  • Ability to work quickly, independently and with limited supervision.
  • Ability to perform essential functions, with reasonable accommodation if needed.
  • Ability to work in coordination and cooperation with supervisors, co-workers, vendors, and other business associates.
  • Interested in experimenting with foods and enjoy cooking.
  • Consistent standing, bending, stooping, lifting up to 50 lbs.
