| Bulk Foods Lead General Description: The Bulk / Natural Foods Lead is responsible for the Bulk / Natural Foods Department's operations, under the direction of the Variety Manager. The Bulk / Natural Foods Lead's task is to ensure that the department achieves established economic goals and that the customers are afforded fresh, appealing products at a fair price in a clean, friendly atmosphere. Essential Functions: · Greets and assists customers with their needs or requests. · Controls inventory, orders product; assures freshness, rotation, ample supply and variety of product; groups and displays merchandise in bulk and variety depts. · Achieves economic goals, including the profit margin; schedules labor within required guidelines; develops and/or applies pricing policy within required guidelines; monitors billings to assure proper charges and credits. · Trains and supervises subordinates. · Ensures cleanliness, sanitation, maintenance, security and safety of the department. · Provides a good working relationship with the Store Manager, Variety Manager and keeps him/her abreast of department activities and problems. · Observes changes in the state of the industry for personal, professional development. · Maintains friendly and respectful manner at all times toward customers, co-workers, vendors and all others. · Handles, in a positive manner, those inherent levels of stress associated with employment situations. Other Responsibilities: · Complies with laws/regulations and company policies including those regarding confidentiality, honesty and business ethics. · Maintains responsive and cooperative relationships with supervisors, co-workers, vendors, customers and other personnel. · Accomplishes assigned tasks in an efficient and timely manner within standards established by supervisor. · Participates in training and professional development. · Demonstrates the "Please the customer first" credo. · Other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: · Current Food Handler Card. · Bulk / Natural Foods knowledge/experience preferred. · Supervisory experience, including labor scheduling, desired. · Willingness to work a varied schedule as business needs require, including evenings and weekends. · Excellent customer relations skills. · Ability to perform essential functions with reasonable accommodation if necessary. · Good work references/record. · Consistent standing, stooping, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
