A/R Clerk Job Description: Under general supervision, performs moderately difficult accounting transactions. Essential Functions: · Receives and records currency and checks in payment of accounts receivable; posts payments to customers' accounts; prepares bank deposits; computes discounts; prepares adjustments for overpayments and underpayments. · Prepares journal entries for cash and accounts receivable; prepares accounts receivable analyses and reports; gives customer information to credit department and other authorized inquirers. · Maintains contact with customers and stores to effectively monitor and collect past due accounts. · Prepares monthly statements of customer’s accounts, answers customer inquiries, and provides supporting documentation. Other Responsibilities: · Assists in reconciling various accounts. · Performs similar job-related duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements: · College accounting coursework through Basic Accounting. · Two years of accounting clerical experience. · Ability to organize and prioritize workload; ability to meet deadlines. · Ability to use office equipment such as computer terminal, calculator, copier and fax machine. |
