| Wine Steward General Description: The Wine Steward is responsible for all merchandising and ordering in the department including special orders. The customer relations aspect of this position require that the Wine Steward make customer service the number one priority at all times, attending to customer's needs and requests in a courteous and assertively friendly manner.
Essential Functions: - Greets each customer by using names whenever possible; extends thanks whenever appropriate; makes customer service the number one priority at all times.
- Inform customers & help them select wine.
- Perform all ordering including special orders.
- Set up displays, dust, stock, and face department shelves.
- Accomplishes tasks in an efficient and timely manner in accordance with company standards.
- Maintains friendly and respectful decorum at all times toward customers, co-workers, vendors and all others.
- Handles, in a positive manner, those inherent levels of stress associated with employment situations.
Other Employment Responsibilities: - Complies with laws/regulations and company policies including those regarding confidentiality, honesty and business ethics.
- Maintains responsive and cooperative relationships with supervisors, co-workers, vendors, customers and other personnel.
- Accomplishes assigned tasks in an efficient and timely manner within standards established by supervisor.
- Participates in training and professional development.
- Demonstrates the “Please the customer first” credo.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications: - Current Food Handler Card
- Wine merchandising experience.
- Knowledge of all wine varieties including foreign and domestic.
- Outgoing and energetic.
- Ability and willingness to work a variety of shifts and days as the position requires.
- Ability to perform essential functions, with reasonable accommodation if needed.
- Exceptional customer relations skills with an outgoing, friendly personality and a desire to serve the public.
- Verifiable references and history of honesty and dependability.
- Consistent standing, stooping, bending and lifting up to 75 lbs
- Minimum Age 21
