Natural & Organic Lead General Description: The Natural & Organic Lead is responsible for all natural and organic products carried throughout the store. The Natural & Organic Lead’s task is to ensure that the natural and organic department achieves economic goals, and that the customers are afforded quality products at fair prices in a clean and friendly atmosphere. Essential Functions: - Greets each customer, using names whenever possible; assists customers with their needs or requests, whether verbalized or observed; extends thanks to each customer when appropriate
- Uses passion of natural and organic foods to educate customers on the variety of natural and organic products
- Recommends organic or natural products as alternative for other products
- Ensures appropriate merchandising
- Creatively promotes alternative products
- Cross merchandise products with other departments
- Oversees sanitation and maintenance, safety and security
- Controls inventory; orders natural and organic products, and seasonal and promotional goods
- Maintains friendly and respectful decorum at all times toward customers, co workers, vendors and all others
- Handles, in a positive manner, those inherent levels of stress associated with employment situations
Other Employment Responsibilities: - Complies with laws/regulations and company policies including those regarding confidentiality, honesty and business ethics
- Maintains responsive and cooperative relationships with supervisors, co workers, vendors, customers and other personnel
- Accomplishes assigned tasks in an efficient and timely manner within standards established by supervisor
- Participates in training and professional development
- Demonstrates the "Please the customer first" credo
- Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications: - CURRENT FOOD HANDLER CARD
- Passion for natural and organic products
- Eager and willing to learn ordering, inventory control, and merchandising
- Neat, clean, business-like appearance
- Ability and willingness to work a varied and flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, or days
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Constant standing, bending, stooping and lifting 50+ lbs
