Specialty Spice and Tea Shop Manager
 
General Description:
The Spice and Tea Manager is responsible for all merchandising and ordering in the department including special orders.  The customer relations aspect of this position require that the Spice and Tea manager make customer service the number one priority at all times, attending to customer's needs and requests in a courteous and assertively friendly manner, and that the customers are afforded fresh, appealing products at a fair price in a clean, friendly atmosphere.
 
Essential Functions:  
  • Greets each customer by using names whenever possible; extends thanks whenever appropriate; makes customer service the number one priority at all times
  • Inform customers & help them create and select spices and teas
  • Create marinades, rubs, and spice blends
  • Educate customers about spices, how to blend them and how to use them
  • Educate customers about tea and how to prepare for maximum flavor
  • Create and serve culinary dishes allowing customers to sample products
  • Perform all ordering including special orders
  • Set up displays, dust, stock, and face department shelves
  • Ensures cleanliness, sanitation, maintenance, security and safety of the department
  • Accomplishes tasks in an efficient and timely manner in accordance with company standards
  • Maintains friendly and respectful decorum at all times toward customers, co-workers, vendors and all others
  • Handles, in a positive manner, those inherent levels of stress associated with employment situations

Qualifications:  

  • Current Food Handler Card
  • Culinary skills
  • Outgoing and energetic
  • Desire to Learn
  • Must be self-motivated and solution-oriented
  • Ability and willingness to work a variety of shifts and days as the position requires
  • Ability to perform essential functions, with reasonable accommodation if needed
  • Exceptional customer relations skills with an outgoing, friendly personality and a desire to serve the public
