Seafood Lead

General Description:

Responsible for quality of product, shrink, sales, labor, inventory, and product ordering.  Supervises seafood team members.  Responsible for sanitation & health department regulations.  Ensures high standards of the department.  Good salesmanship techniques in promoting the available seafood products. Responsible for the preparation and selling of products, proper display, rotation, sanitary handling of the product, overall cleanliness in the department and the completion of various assigned tasks under the direction of his/her store manager.

 Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for quality of product, shrink, sales, labor, inventory, receiving and ordering.
  • Prepares and cooks seafood products for in-store demonstrations to customers.
  • Accountable for providing customers with education and demonstration of preparation techniques for seafood products.
  • Uses excellent salesmanship techniques to promote the department’s products.
  • Provides supervision and leadership of the seafood team, including training, coaching and counseling, motivation and recognition.
  • Displays and fills all product cases/shelves in accordance with standards for rotation and appearance of product.
  • Responsible for Sanitation & Health Department regulations as well as Company food safety program requirements.
  • Successfully completes assigned tasks in an efficient and timely manner according to company standards.
  • Position requires consistent standing, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

  • Other related duties as assigned.
  • Fluency in Spanish a plus.
  • Dependability and flexibility in working a variety of shifts.
  • Must love seafood!

Qualifications:

  • Current Health Card
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of food preparation with emphasis on seafood.
  • Culinary background desired.
  • At least one year of previous management experience required.
  • Demonstrable strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • High level of enthusiasm for the product and active selling with exceptional customer service skills.
  • Experience in ordering and inventory control.
  • Ability to perform all essential requirements of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Ability to work in coordination and cooperation with supervisors, co-workers, vendors and other business associates.
