Bakery Manager in Training
General Description: The Bakery Manager in Training will learn all aspects of the bakery department operations, under the supervision of the Bakery Manager with guidance from the Category Manager, Store Manager and Human Resources. The Bakery Manager in Training will learn all aspects of quality product preparation, proper display and rotation, sanitary handling of the product, overall cleanliness in the department, controlling inventory, ordering product, and providing supply and variety. Essential Functions: - Participates in own training and professional development.
- Greets customers by using names whenever possible; assists customers with their needs and requests, whether verbalized or observed; extends thanks to each customer when service is completed.
- Displays and fills all product cases/shelves in accordance with standards for rotation and appearance of product.
- Uses good salesmanship techniques to promote the purchase of the department's products.
- Prepares and bakes products as requested by customers or supervisors in accordance with department standards and guidelines
- Has knowledge of and is able to use department equipment in a safe, efficient manner.
- Learns to control inventory; order product; assure freshness, provide ample supply and variety.
- Learns to develop and/or apply pricing policy within required guidelines; monitors billings.
- Works in conjunction with Bakery Manager on hiring, evaluation and overall supervision of department personnel; schedules labor within required guidelines.
- Responsible for department security and safety; monitors and guarantees proper sanitation, department appearance, and cleanliness; ensures that department equipment is kept in good working order and properly maintained.
- Observes changes in the state of the industry for his/her professional development and betterment.
- Identifies and implements training and development needs for subordinates.
- Complete assigned tasks in an efficient and timely manner as requested by supervisors.
- Maintains friendly and respectful decorum at all times toward customers, co-workers, vendors and all others.
- Handles, in a positive manner, those inherent levels of stress associated with employment situations.
Other Employment Responsibilities: - Complies with laws/regulations and company policies including those regarding confidentiality, business ethics.
- Accomplishes assigned tasks in an efficient and timely manner within standards established by supervisor.
- Constant standing, stooping, bending and lifting 50+ lbs.
