Database Application Developer & Administrator

General Description:

The Database Application Developer & Database Administrator is responsible for the design, development, administration, and maintenance of company operational databases.  The primary focus is on business operational reporting systems (i.e., sales, labor, inventory, movement, retail flow), ETL, all SQL database administration & troubleshooting, and Intranet portal development & administration for the Company.

Essential Functions:

  • Manages all SQL database administration & troubleshooting tasks
  • Responsible for Intranet reporting systems development and administration
  • Designs, develops and administers store and corporate operational computer databases related to business reporting, including the sales & labor databases and reporting systems, and the retail flow database.
  • Designs and develops customized computer operational reports and custom data analysis for tracking sales & purchases and billing for vendors, accounting system data, pricing data & functionality (i.e., TPR generation), and all payroll databases & reporting systems.
  • Designs, develops, and administers all extraction, transformation, and loading of computer database information systems. 

Qualifications:  

  • 4-5 yrs of experience with Microsoft SQL server databases, including the setup and diagnosis of problems associated with server technology.
  • Significant experience with object-oriented programming, ODBC, SQL, and classic ASP and ASP.Net.
  • Understanding of TCP/IP and network technology including protocol, routers, switches and basic design.
  • UNIX system experience, desired.
  • Significant experience in Windows 9x/NT/2000/XP/2003 environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and time constraints and prioritize accordingly.
