PC LAN/WAN Tech

General Description:
Under the general direction of the Information Services Director, the PC LAN/WAN Technical Specialist will provide Team Member support for all phases of personal computing.

Essential Functions:
  • Build, Configure and Support MS-Windows PC and thin clients
  • Support Network Printing
  • Provide user support for internal systems applications
  • Provide Telephone support for both Store and SSC workers.
  • Participate in Weekend On-Call rotation.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Comprehensive knowledge of PC's, printers, networks, networking devices.
  • Experience in a PC technical support / helpdesk environment is a plus.
  • Personal skills: organized, attentive to detail, personable, ethical, polite professional demeanor, self-starter, team player and
    enthusiastic.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc...).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
  • Knowledge of desktop and notebook computer platforms.
  • Must be able to communicate pleasantly with clients and be able to demonstrate, teach and/or communicate implemental solutions
  • Computer service experience supporting and providing diagnostics is a plus.
  • Knowledge of hardware and software trouble shooting skills.
  • Knowledge of LAN/WAN protocols, cabling, installation and servicing.
  • Knowledge of virus detection software.
  • Knowledge of Internet browsers.
  • Knowledge of / Familiarity with Linux (any level).
  • Professional IT/Information Technology experience / knowledge.
